Alicia Edeline

Being of service to others is my passion, and that passion has found a home in supporting families as they welcome new life into this world. As a birth and postpartum doula, I provide physical, emotional, informational, and spiritual support in a thoughtful and compassionate manner throughout each phase of the process. I love meeting you where you are and simply being a companion to where you are headed. My wish for you throughout your childbearing experience is that you find strength, courage, confidence, and intuition and carry that forward. Your life experiences may influence how you are feeling about your pregnancy, birth, specific needs and type of support you desire. Through prenatal planning and our discussions, we will discover what you and/or your partner may need and how I can best support you through this transformative life event. I am experienced in comfort touch, optimal fetal positioning, rebozo, mindfulness, highly medical/high risk pregnancy, hospital birth, home birth, water birth, VBAC and more. This is your journey, this path belongs to you to walk, to choose, to learn and to grow.

Born and raised in a small town in the Sierra Foothills of Northern California, the importance of family and community were instilled in me at an early age. My life path didn’t immediately lead me to birth work, I first studied linguistics and German in Chico, CA before making my move to the “big city” landing a job in the corporate world. In between supporting new families and individuals, I enjoy spending time with my husband, Kevin, and my two dogs.

Partnership Model

To best serve you, I often work in a partnership with Bri Dewey to provide the benefits of a doula team. These benefits include two unique sets of knowledge, experience, and styles, constant doula support in the event of an extended labor, and continuity of care (built-in back-up if one of us is not available). You get two doulas for the price of one, and visits with us are always a fun time!

Alicia’s Testimonials

“I was uncertain about finding someone who’s personality fit and also shared some of the same beliefs about birth we did but Alicia was great! From the beginning she was very confident and knowledgeable and helped answer all of our questions and direct us through the remainder of my pregnancy and birth process. I felt like she was genuine in her passion for becoming a doula and it really showed when it was game time . . . I needed something that my family and close loved ones couldn’t provide . . . Alicia is a true natural and I would recommend her to any family . . . I felt emotionally safe, and I am confident Alicia can perform above and beyond in her practice.”

Molly, Oregon City

“My experience with Alicia was beautiful. Although I didn’t find out about doula care until very late in my pregnancy it was just enough time for Alicia to take absolute care of me and my baby. I went into labor around 3:30AM Sunday morning and I didn’t have my baby until 7:31AM Monday morning, Alicia never left my side. She was there to make sure I was comfortable, confident and that I could do this. I really needed that, especially with this being my first pregnancy. She was a real blessing to me and my family and I will be forever grateful.”

Danielle, Vancouver

“Not only was Alicia professional from the very start, but she was warm, caring, and you could tell she not only loved what she was doing, but that she had already started loving our family as well. During our first two meetings she asked all of the right questions, she brought my husband into the conversation rather than just focusing on me, and her positivity was contagious. On the day of my delivery, Alicia showed up prepared, bright eyed and ready to go. She remained a calm and loving presence during the whole labor and delivery process and I really felt that she was 100% committed to making our experience the best and most amazing as possible. Her presence was felt, but not overwhelming and oh so supportive . . . If you are looking for a calm, confident, professional and above all caring doula for your birth experience I highly recommend using Alicia.”

Michaelle, Oregon City

“Alicia has been an amazing doula to work with. This is my first pregnancy and I knew I really wanted to have a doula there to support me during my birthing experience. Alicia has exceeded all of my expectations and I’m so glad that she was there to help me through these challenging and wonderful new experiences of motherhood. She has been supportive and very informative throughout my pregnancy, labor and postpartum journey and has never been judgmental or biased on any of my decisions. When we decide to have another baby, I would definitely want to have Alicia along for the ride again!”

Megan, SE Portland

“Alicia was an incredible source of support, humor, and care leading up to and during the birth of our baby boy. We felt instantly at ease & in good hands with questions asked and information provided. Having Alicia as part of our birthing process made all the difference and provided us with confidence that we wouldn’t have had without her by our side.”

Andrhea, NE Portland

“Simply put – Alicia radiates warmth and compassion as a doula. My husband and I long debated hiring a doula, but knew it was the right thing to do when we found Alicia and Bri. Their support was IMPERATIVE as we navigated the gray area of two different birth scenarios literally until the last minute. While we desired a “natural-as-possible” birth, we ultimately had an attempted (failed) ECV followed by C-section due to our son’s “breeched whale” presentation. Alicia was knowledgeable, well-researched and unbiased as she helped us weigh all of our options; honored my transition from “maiden to mother” (as she so eloquently put it); reassuringly explained the scary stuff; empowered me to speak up during pre-op when something was unclear. We would eagerly request her support during a future pregnancy and birth!”
