Trina Baumgartner, Portland Doula
I am a Lamaze Certified Childbirth Educator, Birth Doula, Postpartum Doula, Birth Story Listener, and Yoga Teacher with a certification in Prenatal Yoga. When you work with me, you can expect warmth, honesty, and support – a space for you to grow, as well as a safe space for you to come home to yourself. What I love most about birth and parenting is it asks us to become the biggest version of ourselves. The way we navigate, feel, and are supported through this transformation affects the rest of our lives. Our birth experience affects our relationship with ourselves, our partners, our children, and the entire world, for we are birthing the next generation. As a birth worker, I am passionate about whole-heartedly supporting this process and holding space for this transformation. There is a quote by Ram Das that I love that says, “We are all just walking each other home.” For me, home is in our bodies, in our hearts, in our families, and in the world. I believe that with support, all birthing people can feel loved through their transformation – they can seek their biggest selves, discover home and bravery from within, and welcome their babies into this world with grace and glory.
As a doula and educator, I am skilled and prepared to support you with physical and emotional comfort measures and natural pain coping techniques as well as evidence based educational support throughout pregnancy, birth, and early postpartum. I come from a movement background and my training as a prenatal yoga teacher equips me with a deep understanding of our anatomy, ways to support and balance our bodies, and methods of connecting with our breath as a tool. I also bring my knowledge and practice of Reiki into my birth work, providing relaxation and comfort. I am new to Portland and enjoy exploring the many parks, hiking trails, and good food the city has to offer. I love to talk about all things yoga, spirituality, birth, art, and dog related (this is Portland after all), and I share my many adventures with my 3-year-old rescue, Ember.
